Earworm of the day: Euro edition

It isn’t all terrible Eurovision entrants, chums. Take for example this bit of awesome military-historical power metal. Any Leave voters in the room might want to have a listen, then think very hard about what you’ve done.

I’ve already written about my worries that the real context of ANZAC Day is being erased, but today’s not a day for narrative critiques. Instead, I give you the finest song about Gallipoli ever written. Leave it to Swedish power metallers to properly encapsulate the day.

There is no enemy
There is no victory
Only boys who lost their lives in the sand

I hope your ANZAC Day goes well, however you are marking it or not marking it. Given the week we’ve had, I’m going to get myself off the internet and unplug for a bit.
